Mandarin is my  all time favourite essential oil for aroma. I absolutely love the smell and one sniff makes me feel instantly refreshed and happy!

Mandarin is more than just a fruit though…it’s an incredible essential oil and is often found in Aroma Restoratives aromatherapy blends due to its versatility. Here’s why;

Skin: The astringent properties contract and tighten tissues so it is great for oily skin and acne as it cuts through and removes excess oil.

It also helps cell growth renewal so is great for scar tissue and stretch marks, especially during and after pregnancy.

Nervous system: Mandarin is refreshing, happy, soothing, relaxing and easies all aspects of nervous exhaustion, anxiety and symptoms of depression due to it’s refreshing aroma.

Digestive system: A tonic for the digestive system. It helps expel wind, calms the stomach and balances the metabolic rate. It also helps break down fats in the stomach.

Lymphatic system: Mandarin is a mild diuretic (promotes the production of urine). This in turn helps assist with cellulite due to the flushing of toxins from the body.

General: Mandarin is a gentle oil so it is especially good for children, women, the frail or elderly. It is also one of only a few oils that are safe to use during pregnancy and is used within the Aroma Restoratives pregnancy blend.

So, next time you need an emotional pick me up or something to settle the stomach choose Mandarin essential oil!

If you think Mandarin could treat your conditions Aroma Restoratives offers a bespoke aromatherapy treatment course for £160 which includes a full consultation, 3 x 60 minute massages and oil blends to keep. Click here for more information.

Mandarin essential oil should never be applied neatly onto skin, for best results blend with a carrier oil.
